Pro choro abbatissæ Handwritten antiphonary. Placebos are Vespers of the Dead. Named from the beginning of the first Antiphon (Ps. 116:9, after the Vulgate version: 114:9). Music noted with anthems written in red and black. Page 23 and its new unnumb. verso are in a later hand and on different papers obscuring p. [23-24] of the original. Each of the antiphonary's folios has a small cloth tab to facilitate turning, all but one of which have torn off with use. Title from f.f.e.p. framed within a decorated stamped ornamental border. Cover title blocked onto vellum within scolloped circular frame. Binding is of vellum with originally two brass clasps and catches, one of which is now completely missing. Water damage affects the binding and endpapers at head of volume. 1 choir book (23 p.) ; 43 cm. Holograph, written on both sides of leaf.
